VM 61 contains a comprehensive range of standardized enzymes to provide amylolytic (carbohydrate), cellulytic (cellulose), proteolytic (protein) and lipolytic (fat) activity within the digestive tract. The sources of this activity are pancreatin, ox bile salts and primary cultured enzymes. VM 61 is beneficial for those suffering from gastric upset or impaired digestion, due to decreased enzymatic activity in the stomach or intestines. Each tablet is enteric coated to protect the enzymes from the stomach’s high pH levels, so to allow for full bioavailability in the digestive tract.

Each tablet contains three digestive health formulas. These include the Normagest® formula, standardized pancreatin and the Digestive Enhance formula.

The Normagest® formula contains a variety of natural digestive enzymes that can reduce stomach pain, constipation, bloating, inflammation and support digestive health. Each enzyme is responsible for a different nutrient. This includes the digestion of starch, protein, fats, and vegetable cellulose foods. These enzymes are able to break down these foods into small peptides and amino acids, giving them the ability to improve digestion and nutrient absorption.

Standardized pancreatin includes a variety of digestive enzymes that aid in the digestion of fats, proteins and sugars. For those suffering from a lack on enzymes, pancreatic cancer, cystic fibrosis or pancreatitis, standardized pancreatin can help to break down foods and promote nutrient absorption.

The Digestive Enhancer formula contains a number of natural, plant-based extracts and good bacteria that can aid in digestion and improve the overall health of the digestive tract. Ginger and peppermint can relieve irritable bowl syndrome, indigestion, gas, heartburn and boost nutrient absorption. Bacillus coagulans is a probiotic, or good bacteria that can help reduce diarrhea, normalize nutrient absorption, promote digestive health and balance gut flora. It also encourages the production of lactic acid in the digestive tract, which is useful for inhibiting bad bacteria and promoting good bacteria. Papain and pepsin are enzymes that break down proteins into peptides, for digestion. They also help the body to stimulate bile and better absorb nutrients, especially vitamin B12.
